Ivan I. Vinogradov as Transalator Sappho, Anacreont and Ancient Greek Anacreontic Poetry
The paper surveys the largely unpublished translations of Sappho, Anacreon and Greek Anacreontic poetry by Ivan I. Vinogradov (1765-1801), which were composed in the last years of the eighteenth century. Together with his other translations from the poetry of antiquity (the anonymous Latin poem The Vigil of Venus (Pervigilium Veneris), and twenty one epigrams from the Anthologia Palatina), they constitute a voluminous manuscript, which is preserved in the Russian National Library in Saint Petersburg. As the main source for his translations Vinogradov used a popular French anthology by Julien-Jacques Moutonnet de Clairfons (1740-1813), which was printed manytimes in the eighteenth century. An addendum to the paper contains 34 poems found in manuscript form in the Russian National Library.

Syncretism of the arts in Boris Pasternak's prose
Musical structure of the novel „Air paths (1924)
The article discusses the novel „Air paths“ (1924), where the structural organization of the novel is evidently connected to musical art. The music penetrates with this prose by means of using musical terms, of dividing the characters' dialogues into vocal parts and due to the entire prose rhythm. Consequently, the composition of Air paths is represented as a classical ternary sonata form.

Nikolay Karamzin's Anthropological Aesthetics
The paper studies Nikolay Karamzin's theoretical judgements of art in the context of the emerging discourse of philosophical aesthetics. In Karamzin's multi-layered texts new Enlightenment epistemology and German „anthropological aesthetics“ replace ancient tradition of rhetoric and poetics.

„Pesn' Garal'do Smelogo“ („Ode de Harald Le Vaillant“) and the tradition of the translated chivalric romance
This article is devoted to the transformation of the genre structure of Ode de Harald Le Vaillant after the entry of this text into Russian literature in the last decades of the 18th century. The article examines translations carried out within 1770-1820 and raises the question of early literary translations and their orientation towards the folklore genre of lyric song. The translated chivalric novel had a special influence on the assimilation of the Russian tradition of courtly plots. Editions of individual works of this genre continued to exist in fiction throughout the entire 18th century, enjoyed immense popularity among the democratic readers and their plots were known to most of the outstanding writers.

An essay from the author's cycle From the Index to Akhmatova'sNotebooks“entering the fifth dozen in a series of similar ones, demonstrates an attempt of extensive commentary on Akhmatova's working notes, organized around the names of characters present on the pages of her notebooks, a kind of free Akhmatova encyclopedia, where different times of her long life are combined in an onomasticon.

Problem of Verisimilitude in Scenes of Russian Folk Life by Ivan Gorbunov
The article devoted to the analysis of socio cultural meaning of Ivan Gorbunov, an author and a performer of scenes about Russian common folk, for Russian audience of mid-19th century. I try to reconstruct reception of Gorbunov's scenes as a source of information about non-privileged social classes.
