1.1. General provisions
1.1.1. The «Summer School on the Russian Literature» journal accepts to the publication general-theoretical, methodical, discussion articles, publications, and results of researches in the field of the Russian literature and the theory of literature. Languages of publications — Russian, English.
1.1.2. Earlier published materials (including published on the Internet), and also materials presented for the publication in other journals, are not accepted for consideration. At any subsequent reproduction of the materials published in the journal, the reference to the journal is obligatory.
1.1.3. The recommended article volume is up to one author's sheet. Larger articles are accepted only in consultation with the editorial board of the journal.
1.1.4. Article should be accurately issued and carefully edited.
1.1.5. The text of the article must be sent to the address: summerschool@list.ru as the file (Word 2003 format) to the editor-in-charge of the journal Kobrinsky Alexander Arkadyevich. The text of the manuscript should keep the structure of the supply of material (see item 2.2).
1.1.6. The author of the article accepted for publication, simultaneously with the decision of the editorial board, is sent a license agreement, which the author signs in two copies and sends by mail to the editorial office.
1.1.7. The payment for the publication of manuscripts is not raised.
1.2. List of requirements for registration of materials and condition of supply of articles for the publication
1.2.1. Accompanying documents to the manuscript in the article must include:
- the author's background (surname, name, patronymic name, e-mail, full data on the place of work, position, degree, office address with the indication of the postal index — in the Russian and English languages);
- for students and postgraduates: a positive review by a supervisor or specialist in this field — candidate or Doctor of Science (in scanned form);
An editorial board of the journal makes the final decision on expediency of the publication based on independent reviewing.
During the writing and execution of articles for the press, the editorial office of the journal asks to follow the following rules for authors:
1.2.2. Structure and contents of articles
• The title of the article should briefly, but most precisely, reflect the problem raised. The recommended length of the title — no more than seven words (not including prepositions and conjunctions).
• The journal is supplied an expanded structured abstract in two languages: Russian and English. The abstract (10–20 words) should reflect the main content of work and results of research. The data contained in the title of the article should not be repeated in the text of the abstract. The subject, topic, and purpose of work are specified in case they are not clear from the title of the article. Historical references, if they do not constitute the main content of the document, the review of previously published works and well-known provisions are not provided in the abstract.
• Keywords: 5-7 basic concepts and terms which are used in the text.
• The text of the article should be carefully proofread, clear and laconic.
Each article should contain the bibliography, the rules of which are listed below.

1.2.3. Technical requirements for the manuscript

The article is sent to editors by e-mail to the address: summerschool@list.ru. The review and data on the author are put in the separate file.
The article is made out by the separate file in the *.doc format. The font in the entire article (including footnotes, abstract, keywords, etc.) — Times New Roman, size 14, line-spacing is 1.5.
Initials of authors separated by a space: A.S. Pushkin. When repeating the author’s surname, the initials may be omitted.
Putting in a dash and hyphen is determined by the rules of the Russian language. A dash with spaces is placed between the parts of the sentence, and a hyphen (without spaces) is placed between the parts of the word. When specifying a date range or pages, the dash without gaps is used: 1890-1900s. If the numerals have dependent words, put spaces: late 1870s — early 1880s.
In any language are cited in quotes — «guillemets». If there are more quotes inside the quote, then "quotation marks" are used. However, if the second quotes are in parentheses, then again «guillemets» are used. Here is an example:

The words «year» and «century» in any case and number are written in full! The year is indicated in Arabic, and the century is in Roman numerals (1918, but XVIII–XIX centuries).
The abstract and keywords should be given before the article, first in Russian, then in English. Only «Keywords:» are highlighted in bold. The word «abstract» is not used. The recommended volume of the abstract is 3-6 sentences, keywords and phrases — 5-6.
After reductions «See:» and «Cf.:» it is advisable to use a colon.
Large quotes can be placed in a separate paragraph. Quotation marks and italics in this case are not used.
If the source/and quotations are often repeated in the text, the first time it is given in a footnote with a phrase like «Further references to this publication are indicated in the text in parentheses». In this case, the link to the page after the quote is given in parentheses, with a lowercase letter, without a dot after the brackets:
Remove yon skull from out the scattered heaps:
Is that a temple where a God may dwell?
Why, e'en the worm at last disdains her shattered cell! (p. 197)
It is also possible to quote poetic texts in a line, using «/» as a verse separator and «//» — stanzas.
The author's notes are given in a footnote after the bibliographic description of the source of the quotation and are indicated in the format: (Italics are mine. — A. A); the initials of the author are italicized.

Bibliography

«REFERENCES» are provided at the end of the article. This subtitle is written without quotation marks and punctuation marks at the end, and is highlighted in bold. The list includes all scientific, critical and reference publications that were mentioned in the work. (!) Literary texts are not included in the list of references. There is no need to specify additional materials and research on the topic under study.
Both initials of the author must be indicated if they are specified in the edition.
(!) The name of the publisher is indicated only if it is relevant to the content of the article.

In the list of references, the following reductions are used:

Footnotes

The text of the article uses page–by-page footnotes (automatic in Word, through the options «references - insert a footnote»). At the first mention, a full description of the source is given, the same as in the «References and Sources», at the second mention — the author, the title and an indication of the page number.

4. The article must contain:
Block 1 — in Russian: surname and initials of the author(s); title of the article;
Block 2 — abstract (summary); keywords;
Block 3 — information about the authors: surname, first name, patronymic; position; academic degree; academic title; address data of the author(s) (organization(s), address of the organization(s), e-mail of all or one author;
Block 4 — information of blocks 1-3 in English in the same sequence;
Block 5 — full text of the article in Russian;
Block 6 — list of references in Russian;
Block 7 is a list of references in the Roman alphabet (REFERENCES). Transliteration in Latin (BGN format www.translit.ru) (surname, initials of the author, title of the work, output data) followed by the name of the cited work — in English. The author (transliteration), the name of the source (transliteration), the name of the source (in English), the output data in English.
Manuscripts drawn up without observing these rules are not considered in the editorial office.

2.1. General provisions
2.1.1. The present provision regulates the procedure for reviewing manuscripts of articles and the requirements for reviews supplied to the editorial board of the «Summer School of Russian Literature» journal.
2.1.2. All materials supplied to the editorial office are sent for review on their respective topics for the purpose of their expert assessment.
2.1.3. The purpose of reviewing incoming articles is to improve the quality of scientific articles published in the journal and, as a result, to promote relevant scientific research through the evaluation of materials by highly qualified experts.
2. 2. Rules of supply of materials for reviewing
2.2.1. Scientific articles designed in strict accordance with the conditions and procedure for accepting manuscripts are allowed to be reviewed.
2.2.2. If the requirements are met, the manuscript of the article is transferred to the editorial board.
2.3. Organization of reviewing
2.3.1. The journal has adopted a double-blind review procedure: the author does not know the names of the reviewers, and the reviewers are not informed of the name of the author of the reviewed article.
2.3.2. The review procedure consists of one or two stages carried out sequentially:
- the review (if necessary) is supplied by the reviewer in accordance with clause 1.2.1;
- the review is provided by a reviewer appointed by the editorial board.
2.3.3. The review is compiled in free form, contains an analysis of the presented text and includes a reasoned assessment of: the scientific (theoretical, methodological and conceptual) level of the article; the degree of novelty of the results obtained by the author; the practical significance of the results; the degree of assistance to the development of scientific ideas in the relevant field of knowledge, a general list and analysis of all the shortcomings noted, as well as a statement of the absence of plagiarism and the general conclusion about the expediency of publishing the article or rejecting and refining it.
The review is signed with the original signature of the reviewer.
2.3.4. All manuscripts supplied to the editorial board of the journal «Summer School of Russian Literature» are sent according to the profile of scientific research for review to members of the editorial board, and if necessary, to independent experts.
2.3.5. All reviewers to whom an article is sent for review must be recognized experts on the subject of peer-reviewed materials and have published on the subject of the reviewed article within the last 3 years.
2.3.6. The Editorial Board sends the article for review to the appointed reviewer. The review preparation period is within one month from the date of appointment of the reviewer.
2.3.7. Reviewers are notified that the manuscripts sent to them are the subject of copyright and relate to information that is not subject to disclosure.
2.3.8. Based on the available reviews, one of the following decisions is made at the meeting of the editorial board of the journal:
2.3.9. In case of a positive conclusion of the reviewer appointed by the editorial board, the manuscript of the article is returned to the editorial office for publication in one of the next issues of the journal.
2.3.10. In case of disagreement between the reviewers, the final decision on the publication of the article remains with the editorial board.
2.3.11. If the reviews contain significant comments and a conclusion about the need to finalize the article, the manuscript of the article is returned to the author to eliminate the comments. The revised version of the article may be sent for re-review by the decision of the editorial board. In case of repeated negative review result, the manuscript of the article is rejected and is not subject to further review.
2.3.12. By the decision of the editorial board, additional reviewers may be appointed to eliminate doubts about the expediency of publishing an article.
2.3.13. If the manuscript is rejected, it is returned to the author.
2.3.14. The author has the right to familiarize himself with the text of the reviews. Copies of licenses or a reasoned refusal (in cases provided by law) are sent by the editorial board to the authors upon their requests.
2.3.15. Reviews of each article are kept on the editorial board of the journal and in the publishing house for 5 years from the date of publication of the issue of the journal in which the reviewed work is published.
2.3.16. The Editorial Board of the publication sends copies of the reviews to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation upon receipt of a corresponding request.
